Lily Gonzalez is in demand as a singer-percussionist most recently playing for Faithless, Tony Hadley, The Brand New Heavies and Jimmy Somerville. She has also performed and recorded with Nik Kershaw, Art of Noise, Eddi Reader, Duran Duran, Heather Small, Boy George, Bono, KT Tunstall, Dave Stewart, Holly Johnson, Roland Gift, Belinda Carlisle, Go West, Sister Sledge, Candi Staton, Lucie Silvas and Belouis Some.
Her new album, which she is delighted to have co-written with Andy Hamilton and Nik Kershaw, is due out this summer.
The album is the product of many years of collaboration, long hours spent in the studio, endless remixing, battling over a lyric, a chord progression, a bongo slap, a brass arrangement, a guitar lick, a synth sound, a drum fill, a vocal hook, a bass line and then smiling as it all came together & realising we were reading off the same page all along. Many a bottle of Rioja has been consumed as we've celebrated each of these songs. My babies! Huge thanks to Andy Hamilton for helping me to raise them well. Love you big boy!
